What are we learning in Term 5? Predator

It’s time to take a walk on the wild side! Find out who’s coming to visit… is it a bug-munching lizard or an eagle-eyed bird of prey? Whatever it is, do you think you can handle it? Learn about creepy crocs and amazing alligators, the deadly assassin bug and the voracious Venus flytrap.

Feeling peckish? Let’s jump aboard the food chain!

Spelling in Year 3

At the end of term 2 Year 3 will hold a Class Spelling Bee Competition. Each week we will focus on a different spelling rule and the children will underline words on their Spelling Bee Lists to learn.

How do we reward the children’s behaviour?

In Class 3 we remember to follow the 5 bees;

Be respectful

Be kind and gentle

Be careful

Be responsible

Be the best you can be

In PSHE we have been thinking about feelings and emotions and how these impact on our behaviour. We have been using The Zones of Regulation to describe and discuss our emotions. Please follow the links for more information.

Opera Workshop

We were lucky enough to take part in The Garsington Opera Workshop. The Opera Company visited our school where we took part in some singing and drama activities. We focussed on the story and music of Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky. We then joined lots of different schools to perform at The Winter Gardens in Margate. Here are some pictures and a video from the event.

Week beginning Wednesday 7th September 2016:

We have made a great start to Y3. Please look below to see some photos of our learning.

Today in maths, we were applying our knowledge about measurement. We worked in a team to measure objects around the room and complete a puzzle.

We have been looking at how to be resilient learners. To test our resilience, we were set a challenge to build a tower in small groups. Have a look at how we got on…
